Frequently Asked Questions
Ordering And Shipping
-
Yes, shipping is currently available throughout North America, South America, and Europe. Please use the contact form if you would like an item shipped outside of these regions.
-
Each new collection will become available on the website for a limited period and will be updated as orders come in. If you choose a piece that becomes “unavailable” by the time you check out it may mean that another customer purchased it. You then have the option of choosing another item or signing up for the waiting list for this specific item (please note that a waiting list will only hold the item should someone cancel their order, as all pieces are unique and are rarely duplicated).
You can sign up to my email list to be notified early ahead of each collection launch. -
Yes, each piece and each collection is unique.
-
I aim to ship pieces 2 to 3 working days after purchase on the website. Once your payment goes through you will receive a confirmation email with an estimated shipping date and time. International shipping usually takes 5 to 7 working days but delays are unfortunately out of my control.
-
There is unfortunately no return/refund policy as each item is uniquely crafted and can’t be replaced. If despite my careful packaging your piece arrives damaged, please contact me directly and I can provide a discount for another piece. This will be done on a case-by-case basis.
-
Each piece is carefully packaged in eco-friendly packing supplies like honeycomb paper wrap and secured in padded boxes to ensure safe shipping to your home.
Caring for your pieces
-
Yes, all the mugs, cups, and plates are fired at a high temperature with premium glazes that make them durable and waterproof. They are safe to use in microwaves and dishwashers.
However, the vases and decorative sculptures are fired at a low temperature and aren’t supposed to go in either the microwave or the dishwasher.
-
Yes, each mug, cup, and plate is fired with a high-temperature glaze that makes them durable and food-safe. I only use premium glazes that are lead-free, non-toxic, and meet health and safety standards.
-
Although all the mugs, cups, and plates are dishwasher safe, I recommend hand-washing them to prolong the life of your pieces and ensure that you can enjoy your ceramics for years to come.
Staying up to date
-
Yes! By adding your email to the mailing list at the bottom of the page (or the pop-up in the right lower corner), you will receive exclusive offers, updates on new collections, and insights into your creative journey.
I aim to send a maximum of one email per month or every couple of months to not feel like spam!
-
I very rarely do custom orders but I would never say never! Please contact me through the Contact Us page and let me know what you have in mind.
-
For now, I only show my work online and a couple of times a year at the Gallery of the Ottawa School of Art.
If you would like to see my pieces in person, sign up for the newsletter to be informed of the exhibition dates.
Giving back
-
I use local clay or clay that I traveled with to remove unnecessary shipping. All ceramics are packed with sustainable and/or biodegradable material.
I prioritize slow crafting, which means drying naturally instead of using hot kilns to speed up the process, using as little water as possible, or reusing water.
My technique of choice is hand-building which compared to using the wheel is much less wasteful of water and clay.

Giving back through my art is very important to me! So I decided when building Glazed Earth Atelier, to commit to making a donation for each piece sold. Each purchase triggers a donation to a Canada-based charity that plants trees across the country. If you are more interested in where the donation associated with your purchase goes, you can tick “send me information about my donation” at Check Out, to receive more information.
